I loved it! I am passing through and read the reviews so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to have that old drive-in experience again.
As reviewed, the girls waiting on us were friendly and helpful. I had the Spanish Hotdog and cheese fries with real cheddar (not cheese whiz) and root beer. The root beer alone was worth the trip. Reminded me of the old A&W.
If I ever come this way again, I will return. -

Being an out of towner, I've been for a few places similar to this. Jim's was awesome. Spanish dog was on point. The chili has a sweet tangy flavor that sets it apart from your everyday hotdog sauce. Try the Spanish dog. Cheese chili and diced unions. A complete home run.

Jim's Drive In was one of the few places locals began to steer me toward when I moved to Greenville. I drove up parked, was promptly greeted by a young lady who was very polite and professional and took my order. I got a couple Spanish Dogs and a large root beer. The dogs were out of this world, I've never had a better sauce on a hotdog. I don't know why but the root beer was amazing too. Unfortunately I moved here only a few weeks before they closed for the season. You'll be sure to find me frequenting this place in the spring.

When I think about Greenville, I generally don't get excited about its food options. Growing up here though, as soon as spring rolls in I start counting the days until Jims opens. Many drive in type places I've visited sell similar food, but its never the same. I only drink Jims rootbeer. After they close I dont drink another drop until they open the next year. Its just that good. Everything else fails to compare. Their chili sauce is a guarded secret that many (myself included) would love to have. Its just never really spring time till they open up. The only downside is that it can be pretty costly depending on what you order, but I'd pay it anyways.

So Jim's drive in is only open from Mid March through August. It has been open about 9 days so far, and we have already been there twice.
Coney dogs, shredded chicked, and the best root beer in cold mugs. Woh... yum is an understatement.
The servers bring your food to your car on a tray, or you can take it to go, or you can sit at the picnic tables.
Fun times and good food!
